Last Friday October 17, Pearson Convention Centre was transformed into a luxurious space for Trillium Diwali’s A Royal Affair.

Over 1,000 prominent medical, business and community leaders came together to celebrate the South Asian Festival of Lights.

Guests were treated to a lavish evening that saw Bollywood performances—including featured entertainer Jazzy B, talented musicians, tantalizing food and dancing.

Funds raised at this year’s gala will support cancer care at Trillium Health Partners (THP), including the highly-specialized oncology program located at The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre at THP Credit Valley Hospital.

“We are incredibly proud of our community’s support of our hospital and we are very grateful to TD Bank Group for presenting this year’s Trillium Diwali,” says Steve Hoscheit, president & CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “This was our 13thannual gala and each year the bar is raised higher and higher. The energy in the room is incredible, as is our community’s tremendous generosity. Funds raised this year will support important priorities within our cancer program, a vital service for our community. Close to 3,500 new patients come to our cancer centre each year and your support ensures we have the right resources, close to home.”

Making the event even more incredible was the generous pledge from an anonymous donor who surprised guests by offering to match all donations made at the gala to a total of $100,000. The match was met.

Donations in honour of Trillium Diwali are still being accepted. Trillium Health Partners Foundation invites the community to consider making a gift in honour of the season of Diwali to help raise funds for Trillium Health Partners’ cancer program. Visitwww.trilliumdiwali.ca or call video.

In its 12 years, Trillium Diwali has raised $6.4 million and, thanks to its supporters, have been able to revitalize patient care spaces, purchase new equipment and advance research and education at THP.
