Recap: Mayor Crombie Tribute Dinner

On March 26, Community Living Mississauga (CLM) hosted their 31st annual Tribute Dinner, with Mayor Bonnie Crombie as this year’s honoured guest.

“Community Living Mississauga’s Tribute Dinner has grown and evolved over the past 31 years… Much like our great city,” said Jack Prazeres, Chair of the Tribute Dinner Organizing Committee. “That is why the planning committee felt the only possible honouree for our 31st annual dinner was our new Mayor Bonnie Crombie.”

The Tribute dinner was a great balance between the exciting future of Mississauga under the leadership of Mayor Crombie and the celebration of CLM’s 60th anniversary. For the last 60 years, CLM has provided support and services to individuals who have intellectual disabilities in the community.

The evening included a silent and live auction, entertainment from cultural dance troupes and remarks from Mohamad Fakih of Paramount Foods, Gil Moore of Metalwords Studios and Mayor Crombie’s three children.

For the last 30 years, attendees to the Tribute dinners experienced an entertaining evening while supporting an important community organization. This year, $205,000 was raised by nearly 800 people in attendance. Proceeds from the CLM’s 31st Tribute Dinner will go to CLM’s unfunded leisure and recreation programs including the summer and March Break programs enabling over 200 children and teens who have an intellectual disability to actively participate in a variety of summer camp programs offered throughout Mississauga.
