35th Anniversary Celebration Continues for the Mississauga Potters’ Guild!

potteryChronos: Aspects of Time, an exhibition of ceramic pieces, both functional and sculptural, at the Living Arts Centre was a successfully mounted celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild. The juried exhibition pieces varied in scale, technique, interpretation, colour and texture, yet together they expressed the very malleable and changeable nature of clay as a medium for artistic expression.

Now the guild is preparing to offer the community an opportunity to purchase from a selection of their 75+ members work at their upcoming 35th Anniversary Sale. The sale will be open to the public from November 22 to November 24 in the Guild’s Event Space at the front of their studio located at 1200 Vanier Drive, unit 3A (just south of the QEW between Southdown Rd. & Mississauga Rd.). The sale will be creatively displayed and merchandised in a showroom store just in time for Christmas shopping.

For those looking for a great creative outlet for their children ages 6 to 12, the Mississauga Potters’ Guild Fall Youth Pottery class runs from October 19 to December 7 on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Open Studio Sundays offer a multi-age opportunity to spend a couple of hours from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for visitors to try their hand at creating with clay.

Check the Guild’s website for more details on the 35th Anniversary Sale, Open Studio and class offerings. To register or inquire about classes, email the Guild.
