You’re invited to enjoy contemporary art in 3D! On the weekends of April 30/May 1 and May 7/8, Marcelo Paz?n will exhibit his latest paintings and digital gicl?e prints at #3 Benson Avenue, Mississauga, ON L5H 2P1. This is a limited engagement.

Some of the proceeds of the show will benefit The Toronto Star’s SantaClaus Fund children’s charity. Admission to this special show is free, but donations (cash or cheque) will be welcome. Tax receipts will be available upon request.

Paz?n’s formal training, diverse work experience, and rich cultural heritage from Ecuador serve as the foundation for his current interest in the blending of artistic media and technologies.

Reclaimed pieces of furniture and unused household paint, lacquer, epoxy, and other organic and man-made materials are used to express Paz?n’s interest in movement and energy. Paz?n employs a “drip painting” technique to visually capture these dynamic elements.

When seen with 3D glasses, the multiple layers of paint in his latest works blend traditional colour practice with state-of-the-art technology and produce dramatic creations that are enhanced by an illusion of sculpted depth. This technique allows Paz?n to impose order on natural forces and, thus, transform the banal into the beautiful.
